Okay, that first one was kind of rubbish so I'll do a proper one.
The purpose of this blog is to, well to pass this module, but the real reason is to archive my experiences as I attempt to do a degree.
I'm actually really liking this course so far, and I can't believe how much it suits me. To be honest I didn't put a lot of thought into choosing a university course, or at least not as much as I should have. I really just looked for courses in Liverpool and as soon as I saw Media Professional Studies I knew it was the course for me. Next year is going to be amazing as hopefully they would have completed building the new Liverpool Screen School.
What I love about this course is how up-to-date it is. Because even what I'm doing right now, this exercise shows a lot about our current Internet culture. Blogging is something that so many people do, whether it's on Facebook, Twitter, their own Blog, Vlogging on Youtube and although I'm well out of my comfort zone, it's definitely something I'd love to have a go at. New media is something that absolutely fascinates me. I envy the people who work full-time putting content on Youtube. For example, "Smosh" are two friends used to spend bored weekends putting silly videos on Youtube. Now they have the own website, own company and their full-time (and very well paid) job is putting silly videos on Youtube.
Although it has already started happening, I can not wait to see how New Media in the future will combine with other media sources such as television, cinema and others.
Um. I'm not really sure if this was what we were supposed to be talking about. I've lost track.
So this is my attempt to write a Blog. Even though I know the only person who will read it will be my mother and that will only be to check that I'm actually doing work.
So this is my first proper Blog post. We'll see what happens in 7 months as to wether I start to actually write something of value.
